Reduce Taxes: We WILL do better.

Updated: Aug 17

In today's world, many city residents feel the weight of rising taxes. It can be frustrating to see your hard-earned money go to taxes that increase every year. My vision is to directly reduce resident costs, including property taxes, and additional fees/costs charged beyond the goods and services we all want. My plan raises funding from alternative sources that drive growth in retail, business, and community events, WHILE reducing taxes for residents.

Who is Andrea Revel?

I and a dedicated supporter of our community. With my experience in health care, I have witnessed people in crisis and assisted others throughout their life's journey. I believe I'm forward-thinking leader who values the importance of choices. Choices that are hyper-focused on the "what's in it for me" for our residents, businesses, and communities.

My campaign focuses on growth, economics, transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility. I believe that city taxes should not be a burden on families and small businesses. Instead, we should support essential services without breaking the bank!

Why Reducing City Taxes Matters

Reducing city taxes is not just about saving money. It is about creating a better quality of life for everyone. Here are a few reasons why this issue is so important:

  • Economic Growth: Lower taxes stimulate local businesses. When businesses save money, they can invest in their growth, hire more employees, and contribute to the local economy.

  • Increased Disposable Income: When residents pay less in taxes, they have more money to spend on their needs. This can lead to increased spending in local shops and services.

  • Attracting New Residents: Cities with lower taxes can attract new residents. This will lead to a more vibrant community and increased property values.

  • Funding Essential Services: Essential services like education, public safety, and infrastructure. By reducing financial inefficiency and turning our budget model into a revenue generating machine, the city can provide these services without overburdening residents financially.

Plan for Tax Reduction

Andrea Revel has a clear plan to reduce city taxes. Here are some key points of her strategy:

  1. Audit City Spending: Conduct a thorough audit of city spending. By curbing non-value added expenses, we will lower taxes without sacrificing services. Accountability to our residents is essential!

  2. Promote Economic Development: By supporting local businesses and attracting new ones, revenues gained from increasing local business growth will directly reduce the need to collect from residents. By supporting our business community and important business partners it means lower rates for everyone.

  3. Increase Transparency: I believe residents have a right to know how their tax dollars are being spent. We will implement regular public reports and community meetings to keep everyone informed.

  4. Encourage Community Involvement: Engaging residents in the decision-making process by encouraging community input, I believe the city will make better choices that reflect the needs of our residents.

Success Stories from Other Cities

Andrea's vision for reducing city taxes is not just a dream. Other cities have successfully implemented similar strategies. Here are a few examples:

  • Fargo, North Dakota: After conducting a spending audit, Fargo identified wasteful spending. By reallocating those funds, they were able to reduce taxes by 15% while maintaining essential services.

  • Jacksonville, Florida and Cheyenne, Wyoming: This city focused on attracting new businesses by offering tax incentives. As a result, they saw a significant increase in jobs and a broader tax base, allowing them to lower tax rates for residents. We do do this and at a larger scale helping businesses to thrive and residents to enjoy lower property taxes.

  • Many including New York City, Bostion, Chicago, Nashville: By increasing transparency and involving residents in budget decisions, these cities build trust and support for tax reductions. This led to a successful tax cuts. Several large international cities do the same, such as Helsinki, Finland and Reykjavik, Iceland. It is called "participatory budgeting" and is a growing reality across the world.

The Importance of Community Support

Andrea knows that her campaign will only succeed with the support of the community. When residents come together, they can create real change. Here are some ways community support can make a difference:

  • Building Momentum: A strong community backing can create momentum for the campaign. When people see others getting involved, they are more likely to join in.

  • Sharing Ideas: Community members can provide valuable insights and ideas. This can help shape Andrea's policies and make them more effective.

  • Creating a Sense of Ownership: When residents feel involved in the campaign, they are more likely to take ownership of the issues. This can lead to a more engaged and informed electorate.
